According to the benchmark results, it looks like the A10X is no slouch either. It managed to get a score of 4,236 on the single-core test, and 6588 on the multi-core test. This versus the A10 Fusion which score 3490 on the single-core, and 5580 on the multi-core. This seems to suggest that the A10X is much more powerful than the A10 Fusion.
Of course these are just benchmark numbers and how it feels and runs in real-life is probably a more realistic test, but we guess on paper the A10X is certainly blowing away the competition. There is no guarantee that Apple will use the A10X for the new iPads, but in the past that’s what the company has done and unless Apple changes things up, that’s what we are expecting as well.
Apple is rumored to launch a trio of new iPads come Spring 2017, so that’s probably when we can expect to see the A10X chipsets make their debut. In the meantime do take it with a grain of salt.
