Google today announced that it has inked strategic partnerships with Visa and Mastercard in order to bring Android Pay to more places online. The new partnerships will soon enable Android Pay users to pay on countless websites where Visa Checkout or Masterpass are accepted using the device authentication method of their choice, such as fingerprint recognition. This will eliminate the need for users to remember multiple usernames and passwords on checkout.
Google promises that Visa Checkout and Masterpass users who link their accounts with Android Pay will be able to make easy and secure payments in stores and online with a simple tap.
The payment integration process is easy for merchants as well. Those who have enabled Visa Checkout or Masterpass on their websites will immediately benefit from the improved payment experiences as the buttons will update automatically. Merchants can look forward to higher conversions and increased says with Android Pay.
Google says that its new partnership with Visa and Mastercard goes to show how Android Pay can work with existing solutions to improve the payment experience for both users and merchants. Users are advised to look for the new integrations with Visa Checkout and Masterpass inside the Android Pay app early next year.
