With the launch of iOS 10, Apple has finally made Siri available to third-party developers. Prior to this, Apple had pretty much limited Siri’s use to its own apps and services, which honestly kind of hampered the platform’s potential. One of the first few apps out of the door to take advantage of Siri’s availability is none other than WhatsApp.
If you were to launch the iTunes App Store, you will be able to find the latest update for WhatsApp that will introduce Siri integration, where users can use Siri to make WhatsApp calls and to send messages. Users will still need to manually enable Siri by going to your Settings -> Siri -> App Support -> WhatsApp, but once that’s done you should have no problems using it.
Another update that WhatsApp has made is the ability to answer calls from your lock screen. Before this update, users would be notified of WhatsApp calls coming in, but they’d have to swipe to unlock their screen, and if you have a passcode, you’ll have to enter that before reaching the call screen.
This wasn’t very efficient and in some cases you might miss some calls because of the time it takes, but this has been done away in the update as you will be able to answer calls directly. Like we said the update should already be live, so head on over to the iTunes App Store for the download if you haven’t done so already.
