This is much more favorable compared to overages which can rack up quite a hefty bill. Now Verizon has such a feature called Safety Mode but for a while, it was only available to select data plans. However the good news is that Verizon has since confirmed that they will be bringing Safety Mode to all of its data plans.
Prior to this, plans that did not have Safety Mode offered in it was instead being sold as an add-on where customers had to pay an additional $5 a month for the feature, but now it looks like Verizon will be offering it as part of every plan. In case you’re unfamiliar, Safety Mode kicks in which you’ve exceeded your data allowance.
It will slow your mobile internet speeds down to 128kbps, which honestly isn’t really good for anything save for sending/receiving messages. We suppose it is inconvenient, but at least you’re still connected and you can avoid a nasty bill shock at the end of the month. Safety Mode will be arriving for all plans come 6th of September.
