iPhone_7_Plus_LineupIf you are a Verizon subscriber and you just got your hands on the new iPhone 7 or 7 Plus from Apple and you’re running into some LTE connectivity issues, don’t worry you’re not alone. According to bunch of reports from users, it seems that quite a few Verizon users with the new iPhones are experiencing this problem as well.

According to a post on Reddit by user Kangalex, “i have noticed that when my phone is out of wifi range, it will never automatically connect to LTE but rather get stuck at 3G until I put into airplane mode to reset the network connection. its really annoying and verizon swapped out the sim for me but mentioned that if this issue keeps happening they will replace the device for me.”

Kangalex is not alone as there are other users who are also complaining that their LTE connectivity keeps cutting in and out at regular intervals, leaving them stuck with 3G speeds, or in some cases no signal at all. What this means is that if you’re making VoLTE calls, it can cause them to drop.

It is unclear if this is a hardware or software issue, but so far neither company has come up with a way to fix it, save for resetting the phone, swapping out SIMs, restarts, and more. However as Kangalex points out, the carrier is offering users a replacement if the problem keeps happening, but hopefully it is a software problem that can be addressed in an update.
