Vapes, vaporizers, e-cigarettes are pieces of technology that are supposed to help smokers quit smoking. Now whether or not the contents inhaled are harmful to the body has been documented by various studies over the years, and it is a debate for another day, but if there is one thing worrying about such devices, it would be its battery.
We have been hearing horror stories of phones exploding in the hands of its users, and in the past we have heard of vapes exploding and if you’re wondering what that looks like, recently a video has surfaced in which it shows a vape belonging to a woman explode in her bag while she was out shopping.
Mara McInerney, the woman in question, was out shopping at the Sunglass Hut at the Freehold Raceway Mall when suddenly her vape exploded and as you can see in the video above, thick, black smoke started to pour out of her bag. According to McInerney, “Terrifying, scary. It sounded like a gunshot. It sounded like a bomb went off. It was 9/11. I thought someone had put something in my bag.”
The results were so damaging that they actually melted holes in her bag. McInerney claims that there was no warning and she has had no issues with her vape, but she says she’s thankful that at least her daughter had not been reaching into her bag for candy at the time of the explosion.
