Thinking about picking up a physical copy of EA’s upcoming Titanfall 2? We understand that some gamers might prefer a physical copy of the game because maybe they still like the idea of installing via disc, or maybe they just like collecting boxes, manuals, and discs. Unfortunately with regards to disc, EA will disappoint in that area.
As spotted by Wario64 on Twitter (via Attack of the Fanboy), it turns out that the physical copy of Titanfall 2 will not be shipping with a disc! What does this mean? This means that gamers will basically be given a key in which they can download the digital copy of the game, so in reality the only thing physical about this copy would be the box and its contents, like the manual, and so on.
That being said, Titanfall 2 is definitely not the first game to go this route. Previously Bethesda also adopted the same strategy with Fallout 4 in which the majority of the game was a digital download. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing since you can always download the game if you format your computer, versus CD/DVD in which in the past if you misplaced it, you would be kind of screwed.
In any case Titanfall 2 is set for a release on the 28th of October, so if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, you still have time to do so.
