Tinder today announced that it has teamed up with Spotify which is powering its latest “sensory experience.” Basically, what this partnership enables users to do is link up their Spotify account to their Tinder profile. This enables users to see the top songs of the people they match with and also find out if they have any listening habits in common. It will even be possible to play previews of songs from Spotify from within the hookup app.
Tinder users will be able to play previews of other people’s top songs from their profiles regardless of whether or not they have a Spotify account. Those who have their account connected will see the artists they have in common with each person.
Spotify teaming up with Tinder gives users the opportunity to show their taste in music as well as select the Anthem that defines them. Anthem is the “one single track that tells your story,” and Spotify is allowing all Tinder users regardless of whether they use its service the ability to add an Anthem to their profile.
This integration between Spotify and Tinder is rolling out today. Expect it to go live for you soon if you’re in any of the 59 markets where Spotify is currently available.
