Nintendo today confirmed that it’s going to release a scaled-down version of its popular Super Mario Maker title on the Nintendo 3DS. If you’re not aware of what this title is all about, it’s basically a game in which players create a game. I know it sounds confusing but players find it very interesting and the company will be hoping that the sentiment prevails with Nintendo 3DS users as well. It has confirmed precisely when Super Mario Maker is going to be released for Nintendo 3DS.
The scaled down version of this title is called Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS and it will allow players to create and play their own Mario levels in the same way that they can do in Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will be able to share the levels they create over StreetPass and local wireless but they will not be able to upload them online where others can download and play them as well. That’s one of the limitations of this title.
The company has said that this game does support levels that have originally been created on the Wii but does caution that not all levels will be compatible with the scaled-down version. Some features like Mystery Mushroom will remain exclusive to the Wii U version.
Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is going to be released on December 2nd in Europe and North America.
