Microsoft’s Windows Insiders program continues to flourish as the company releases test features for preview users to try out before they are released for everybody. Those who are on a beta build of Windows 10 might want to get the latest version of Skype Preview for PC and Mobile because Microsoft has updated the app to enable them to send and receive text messages right on their Windows 10-powered computers.
The only caveat here is that users need to make sure that they also have Skype Preview as the default messaging application on their Windows 10 Mobile-powered device for this to work.
The new version of this app displays both instant messages as well as text messages in a single view for each so that users can easily see which is which.
Microsoft first started testing this feature called Messaging Everywhere earlier this year in April, enabling users in the Insiders program to send text messages from PC. It was expected that perhaps this feature might be made public with the major Windows 10 Anniversary Update but that didn’t happen.
The company has now said that this feature will be rolled out to all Windows 10 users in the coming months, they will require the Skype universal app to take advantage of it.
