note 7 explodeSamsung has been having a pretty hard time over reports of the Galaxy Note 7 exploding. The company has already issued a recall for their phones, and oddly enough throughout the entire thing, we have yet to hear about customers suing the company. In fact Samsung was actually sued over the explosion of a different phone.

However that has changed. A report from Reuters has revealed what could possibly be the first lawsuit filed against Samsung over the exploding Galaxy Note 7 handsets. A man in Florida by the name of Jonathan Strobel is suing the company after his Galaxy Note 7 had exploded, causing severe burns on his body as a result.

According to Strobel, the phone was kept in the front pants pocket when it exploded, burning directly through his pants and caused a deep second-degree burn. Strobel’s lawyer Keith Pierro said, “He has a deep second-degree burn, roughly the size of the phone, on his right thigh. Unfortunately for my client the recall came too late.”

LIke we said, this sounds like it could possibly be the first ever lawsuit filed against Samsung over this issue. We wouldn’t be surprised if more lawsuits were to pop up in the future, or maybe even class-action ones, but until then, this looks like it’s the only one.
