Rumor has it that Samsung is now working on the 2017 models of its premium mid-range Galaxy A series. A few reports related to these smartphones have already surfaced and now a benchmark result of the Galaxy A3 (2017) has surfaced online and has revealed the specifications that this handset might offer. As the moniker clearly shows, this is going to be the base model in the new Galaxy A series from Samsung.
The benchmark results from GFXBench shows that the Galaxy A3 (2017) might feature a 4.7 inch 1280×720 pixel resolution display with a Samsung Exynos 7870 processor under the hood coupled with 2GB RAM and 8GB of onboard storage.
Additional specifications mentioned in the benchmark result include a 12 megapixel rear and 8 megapixel front camera. The handset is likely going to be powered by Android 6.0.1 at launch. Since the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2016) both have the same camera combination as the Galaxy A3 (2016), it’s possible that we might see the same happen this time around as well with the 2017 models of these handsets.
The Galaxy A3 is the base model in this series so expect the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) to offer slightly better specifications and features than this handset, but then again, the Galaxy A3 is going to be the cheapest of the trio.
Samsung has not yet confirmed anything about the 2017 models of the Galaxy A series so it can’t be said for sure right now when these new handsets will be released.
