As far as video game movies are concerned, it’s safe to say that the Resident Evil franchise is probably one of the few video game movies that is still going on until today. In fact the latest (and last) live-action Resident Evil movie (appropriately) dubbed The Final Chapter is set for a release in 2017.
However it seems that’s not the end of the movie franchise. Announced during the Tokyo Game Show, it seems that fans can expect at least one more title. However it won’t be an English movie nor will it be live-action. The movie, dubbed Resident Evil: Vendetta (or Biohazard: Vendetta in Japan) will be a full-CG animated movie.
It will be released in Japan in the spring of 2017, and footage from the movie is expected to be shown off this coming Sunday at 5pm Japan time after the Tokyo Game Show ends. The movie is expected to feature a completely original story, and will also feature characters that fans of the franchise are familiar with, such as Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, and Leon Kennedy.
It is unclear at this point what the story will be about, but if you are a fan of the series, then we guess this is something that could be worth looking forward to. Also do check back with us at the end of the week for the footage of the movie.
