Say 10-15 years ago, you would buy a game, pay for it once, and that was it. You’d get updates for free, new content, and so on. The only time you’d pay for the same title again is when its expansion was released. Fast forward to today, not only are gamers expected to pay for a game once, but they are expected to keep paying after.
This is due to developers introducing microtransaction in which they offer up things like additional content like maps, costumes, new characters, skins, and so on that players can purchase with real-life money. The good news is that Capcom will not be applying that to Resident Evil 7.
This is according to a tweet by the official Resident Evil Twitter account in which they confirmed that there will be no microtransactions featured in the game. The tweet also highlighted some of the pre-order bonuses that gamers can expected, and we guess some were wondering if they missed out on pre-ordering the game, could they purchase those items via microtransactions (the answer is no).
This is good news for gamers who aren’t a fan of this new (and successful) business model. Resident Evil 7 is set for a release on the 24th of January, 2017. Just recently Capcom had also confirmed support for the PS4 Pro where gamers can look forward to 4K and HDR graphics.
