If you are planning on getting a new MacBook Pro, we suggest that you hold off on doing so. This is because in case you haven’t heard, Apple is working on a revamped model that will represent one of the biggest changes and upgrades that they have made to the MacBook Pro series in a long time.
Sure, that’s great, you say, but when will it launch? Pretty soon apparently. According to the folks at MacRumors, they have heard from their sources that Apple is working towards getting the laptop ready, and that they are planning for a late October launch. No specific dates were mentioned, so we guess we’ll just have to keep an eye out for the invites to the event.
Apple is also said to be working on macOS Sierra 10.12.1 that will supposedly help make the operating system compatible with the laptop’s new features, which in case you didn’t know are said to be include a touch OLED panel that will replace the function key row, as well as Touch ID that will supposedly double up as the laptop’s power button.
In any case take it with a grain of salt, but given that the MacBook Pro hasn’t been updated in more than a year (498 days according to MacRumors’ Buyer’s Guide), we suppose it is inevitable that a refresh is in the works, so unless you’re perfectly content with owning hardware that some might call a bit dated, maybe holding off on your purchase for a month or two might not be such a bad idea.
