According to Razer, “Traditionally, users choose membrane rubber dome keyboards for comfort, while mechanical switches are favored for fast actuations and distinct tactile feedback. The Razer Mecha-Membrane is a unique mid-height keycap hybrid that provides a comfortable and efficient typing experience unlike any key type on the market.”
Basically it sounds like Razer is trying to give users the best of both worlds, but whether or not you agree with its choice is up to you. However from what we can tell from this particular video, it is one heck of a clicky keyboard, meaning that if you don’t want to annoy your family or co-workers, then this keyboard is probably not for you.
The Ornata will feature individually backlit keys powered by Razer’s Chroma technology. These LEDs can be customized according to your liking and there are also various effects to choose from. The keyboard also comes with a detachable wrist rest if you prefer. The Razer Ornata is priced at $100 and if you’d like to get your hands on one, hit up Razer’s website for the details.
