During Apple’s iPhone announcement last week, they also took the time to unveil new Apple Watch models, and at the same time it was also announced that Pokemon GO would be arriving on watchOS and subsequently the Apple Watch. This is rather exciting news for Pokemon GO gamers, but where is the Android Wear love?
There was no mention as to whether the game would arrive on other wearables, but the good news is that it looks like it will. According to the folks at the Pokemon GO Hub, they have managed to data mine the latest version of Pokemon GO for Android and discovered that there are hints of support for Android Wear.
In fact there were several references made to Android Wear support, so the good news is that this is something gamers can look forward to. Unfortunately it is unclear if the Android Wear version will be the same as the one shown off during Apple’s event, but we suppose it shouldn’t be too different.
There is also no mention of when the game will arrive for Android Wear, but given that Niantic has yet to officially announce anything, maybe wearable version of Pokemon GO might be a timed exclusive to watchOS, but either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
