iphone-7-plus-double-camera-BIs the iPhone 7 doing well? Or is it doing as bad as analysts had predicted? We guess it depends on who you are talking to. T-Mobile seems to suggest that sales are 4x more than the iPhone 6, while KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks that the iPhone 7’s sales won’t be able to beat that of the iPhone 6s.

However Pegatron’s chairman Tung Tzu-hsien begs to differ. According to a report from Nikkei, Tung suggests that the demand for the iPhone 7 has actually beaten forecasts. He was quoted as saying, “Consumers do not care about what analysts say about the lack of innovative features.”

Given that Pegatron is one of the companies that Apple employs to manufacture the iPhone, we guess Tung does have more insight than others. Tung also denied that the Galaxy Note 7 had artificially inflated the demand for the new iPhone “The Note series only takes up a small portion of Samsung’s total shipments. Our U.S. client’s new handsets are competing against Samsung’s S7 series rather than the Note 7.”

Naturally he denied to reveal what the iPhone shipping numbers are, but Kuo had previously stated that his company had raised their estimates from 65 million iPhone 7s sold to 70-75 million. In any case with Apple not disclosing launch weekend sales numbers, we’ll have to wait for the next financial report to get a better idea.
