One of the benefits of using a VPN, apart from trying to skate around geofenced content, is to protect your privacy. There are plenty of VPN services out there, some of which are free, and some of which require users to pay a subscription. Now it looks like we’ll have one more option in the form of Opera.
Earlier this year, Opera announced that they would be building in VPN services into their browser, and the good news is that it looks like the browser is now available for everyone to download. Prior to this, users would have to download the test/beta version in order to try out the feature, but we guess it is now ready for primetime which is why the browser is now available to all.
Users will be able to choose between five different countries that they would like their VPN to be from, which includes Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the US. However for those who’d rather not choose or have no reason for picking a specific country, Opera will be able to pick the one that they think provides the fastest service.
In addition to the VPN, the update will bring about improved battery management which is great for users on laptops, RSS feeds in personal news, and more. If you’d like to get your hands on it, head on over to Opera’s website for the download.
