We suppose this isn’t too long of a wait and according to Samsung, the reason for this is because they wanted to complete the ongoing recall of the Note 7 in the country before focusing on sales. According to Samsung, “The recall rate will likely fall sharply should new sales have resumed on Sept. 28.”
Recently the Korean authorities have asked Samsung to extend the refund period so we have to wonder if that might have anything to do with the delay, but we guess it’s not necessarily a bad thing if Samsung wants to complete the recall process and focus on existing customers first before trying to court new ones.
That being said, we have also heard reports that the replacement units are having problems of their own. While there have been no reports of explosions, some owners are complaining that the phone does get pretty hot and how in some cases, it seems to be losing battery power even when it is charging.
