While we know that the Nintendo NX exists, we do not know much else about. There have been rumors such as how it would use cartridges instead of discs, but really at this point in time everything we’ve heard so far is pretty much speculation. That being said, if you wouldn’t mind getting your hands on one, Nintendo has plans to give one away.
It has been announced that a Splatoon tournament will be held which will be run by both Nintendo and ESL. The tournament is pretty straightforward and the winner will be given a free Nintendo NX console, although considering that last we heard that the console was pegged for a release in March 2017, there’s a good chance the winner won’t be getting it ahead of everyone else, so essentially the winner would be bagging themselves a free console at best.
It should be noted that this tournament is pretty lengthy and is expected to consist of a six-month season of matches which will end in March 2017, just in time for the NX’s release, which is why we said the winner probably won’t receive it ahead of the general public. The first match will be kicking off this Sunday and winners will be earning themselves points that will eventually allow them to make it into a European monthly final.
For gamers who think that they might have a shot at winning themselves the NX, you can go on ahead to the ESL website and sign up.
