Netflix is no stranger to creating original TV series that do very well, House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black being two prime examples, and Narcos joined the list last year. The show follows the story of Pablo Escobar who was one of the biggest drug lords based in Colombia. Narcos season 2 was released about a week ago and it has now been confirmed that Netflix has renewed the series for two seasons. This means that there’s certainly going to be a Narcos season 3 and 4.
If you’ve already completed the second season of this show then you might be aware of a big development that has taken place, however, that’s not going to impair the showrunners’ ability to carry the story forward.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the folks running Narcos always had the plan to shift from Escobar’s story to the overall drug war. Eric Newman who is an executive producer on the show told the scribe that “this show has always been about cocaine.”
There isn’t a lot of information available right now about the storyline that will be followed in the season 3 and 4 of Narcos, but it’s said that Narcos season 3 is going to primarily focus on the Cali Cartel which was different from Escobar’s Medellín Cartel as it did not have a single leader.
