For those who are curious about device compatibility, Apple has published a list of devices that will be compatible. For iPhone users, these iPhones will be compatible: iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and the iPhone 5.
As for iPad owners, these iPads will play nicely with the iOS 10 update: iPad Pro 12.9-inch, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4th generation, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, and the iPad mini 2. Unfortunately for iPod touch owners, only the iPod touch 6th generation will be supported, so for those with older iPod touch devices you’d be out of luck.
Note that performance of iOS 10 will probably vary depending on your device. For example in the past we’ve seen how some iOS updates are pretty laggy and offer up poor performance on older (but supported) iOS devices, so that’s something to keep in mind if and when you decide to update.
