In fact this is how the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation seems to feel because they have since asked all airlines to ban the entire Galaxy Note series from flights. This means that if you own the original Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, or the Galaxy Note 5, it does not matter if those phones have had more or less perfect track records for being safe, they are currently being banned.
Prior to this, the country’s authorities had already banned the Galaxy Note 7 from check-in bags, so no doubt the latest ban wave is sure to inconvenience a lot of passengers. No word from Samsung yet regarding this latest ban, although we have to admit that maybe it is a bit of an overreaction considering that the Galaxy Note 2 was released 4 years ago and is pretty far removed from the Galaxy Note 7 in terms of development, not to mention there’s a good chance that different people worked on the Note 2 and the Note 7.
