Now if you’ve always appreciated the Mac Mini’s form factor but wanted a Windows equivalent, you’re in luck as HP has announced the Elite Slice. As you can see from the photos, the Elite Slice looks like a slightly more souped up version of the Mac Mini, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end.
The HP Elite Slice appears to be quite a powerhouse under the hood and will support Intel’s Core i7-6700T processor and up to 32GB of RAM. We are also looking at various storage options ranging from SSDs to HP’s Turbo Drive. There is also an added advantage of the Elite Slice over the Mac Mini in the sense that there are support for modules.
For those who are a bit more discerning when it comes to audio, the HP Elite Slice will be able to support the HP Audio Module that will turn your Elite Slice into a speaker phone or multimedia player, thanks to a collaboration between HP and Bang & Olufsen. Other modules include the HP ODD Module that lets users backup their hard drives, and the HP VESA Plate that lets users mount the Elite Slice to a fixed location.
These modules are optional and will be sold separately. Unfortunately there is no word on pricing or availability yet.
