Sony had confirmed recently that HBO and Cinemax will both be available on its PlayStation Vue TV streaming service soon and that’s precisely what has happened today. Starting today, HBO and Cinemax are available for streaming on the PlayStation Vue standalone TV streaming service. Alongside these channels, Sony has also launched a new Ultra plan for its TV streaming service which includes premium cable networks HBO and Showtime.
The PlayStation Vue Ultra plan is available to subscribers starting today. It includes HBO and Showtime as well as all of the 100+ channels from the Elite plan for $64.99 or $79.99 per month, final pricing depends on the user’s location.
PlayStation Vue now offers four plans across different price ranges starting from Access which costs $29.99 per month and offers 55+ channels all the way up to Ultra which offers 100+ channels with HBO and Showtime for the aforementioned prices.
Subscribers will also be able to access HBO and Cinemax as standalone channels on PlayStation Vue, they are both available for $15 each per month. This makes PlayStation Vue the first internet-based pay-TV service that offers HBO and Cinemax’s live programming without requiring a bundle subscription.
Sony has also confirmed today that the much awaited HBO Now app is finally being released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, console owners can download it right away.
