Sony today announced that the most requested channels will be landing soon on its standalone TV streaming service, PlayStation Vue. It has confirmed that HBO will soon be coming to PlayStation Vue and so is Cinemax, which will provide subscribers with access to more movies and original series. The company also confirmed that HBO Now is also going to be launched on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in the near future.
Those who subscribe to HBO via PlayStation Vue will also be able to use HBO Now on all supported devices – even mobile devices – at no additional charge.
Sony has also confirmed that HBO and Cinemax on PlayStation Vue as well as the HBO Now app for PS4 and PS3 will be launched prior to the October 2nd premiere of Westworld, a highly anticipated upcoming series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.
The launch on PlayStation Vue marks the first time that HBO’s live programming and Cinemax are available directly as standalone channels for online streaming without requiring a bundle subscription. PlayStation Vue subscribers will have to pay $15 each per month for HBO and Cinemax. This amount has to be paid on top of the subscription charge for PS Vue.
Sony is going to have more news to share about this in the near future.
