GoPro confirmed quite a long time ago that it’s making a drone, it’s first ever, and today the company has confirmed when it’s going to formally unveil the new product. GoPro makes great action cameras that have long been attached to drones to capture breathtaking footage so it makes complete sense for the company to make a similar product.
The company confirmed the launch date today by posting a brief teaser video on its official Twitter account. There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding this product given the fact that the company hasn’t really provided any detailed information about the Karma drone as yet aside from confirming that it is working on a drone.
GoPro CEO Nick Woodman has previously referred to the company’s unannounced drone as “the ultimate GoPro accessory.” He first talked about it in May last year and said that the drone is going to be released in the first half of 2016. We’re already done with the first half of this year and it remains to be seen if the GoPro Karma will be released in time for the holiday season this year.
The company may be planning to release the Karma drone alongside the Hero 5 which is going to be GoPro’s first new flagship action camera in about two years. There have been some rumors about the Hero 5 as yet and naturally, fans of the company are also excited about getting a new action camera from GoPro.
GoPro is going to officially unveil the Karma on September 19th and you will be able to watch the announcement on GoPro.com.
