According to the folks at Android Police, they have learnt that Google could be planning to announce a new product called Google WiFi. No, this is not an internet service, but rather this is a router. Now you might be confused because Google already has a router in the form of the OnHub that was announced last year, so why would Google launch another router?
After all Google isn’t exactly a company that creates networking devices like Belkin, TP-Link, D-Link, and so on. However the report claims that one of the selling points of the Google WiFi is that it is small like the Amazon Echo Dot, and that it will provide enhanced range compared to regular routers, and that they can be they can sort of be linked together to create one large wireless network.
Android Police is a little unclear as to how this will work exactly, but if the 4th of October rumors are true, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
