The folks at 9to5Google have recently stumbled upon more evidence that Google is working on something called Andromeda, and that it is being tested out on the Nexus 9. There have been several references made to Andromeda in the testing, one of which suggests that the device needs to score at least an 8.0 in order for it to be compatible, and the Nexus 9 scores an 8.8.
We’re not sure why Google would conduct testing on a two year old tablet that may or may not be refreshed, when there are more powerful devices that have been released recently. It is possible that since it is a merger of Android and Chrome OS that Google may simply be looking for a larger screen to test Andromeda on, but that’s just speculation on our part.
In any case we expect that the official details will be shared on the 4th of October, assuming the rumors are true, so be sure to check back with us then for updates.
