According to Google, “Let’s say you’re looking for a new outfit to wear to a wedding. If you search for “cocktail attire”, you could see an image of a popular fashion blogger wearing a black cocktail dress, heels and sunglasses. You can shop those exact (or visually similar) products featured in the image by tapping through and exploring the relevant products shown in the form of Shopping ads.”
What this means is that users will now be able to save time in searching for outfits online as it should be able to be displayed within the search results itself, as opposed to users having to scan through various websites or different apps to look for what they want. Granted this feature seems to be more catered towards advertisers as a potential platform to advertise their clothes, but it does seem to be pretty useful for folks looking for that particular outfit.
As it stands, this feature is only available on mobile and in the US, but given that this new feature is currently undergoing testing, we guess it makes sense for Google to limit their audience for now.
