This is according to several of their readers who noted that in the latest beta for Google Maps, Google appears to have made some changes to its Explore tab. If you have ever used the Explore tab in the past, you’ll realize that the new design is quite the departure from the old design and seems to focus more on a card-like design similar to that of Google Now.
Gone are the blue highlights and instead it looks like Google has gone for a whiter and brighter interface. Other than that it appears that in terms of functionality Google has not made any major changes, so users can relax knowing that the feature will continue to remain as what they remember of it.
It should also be pointed out that this seems to be server-side enabled, meaning that if you own the beta version of Google Maps but aren’t seeing the changes above, don’t worry as it just means that Google is simply trying out the new design with a handful of users first. It is unclear if this new design will stick, but what do you guys think?
