Not all emails were designed equal. Sometimes you get emails from marketing companies that contains images and links which look fine when viewed on the desktop, but when viewed on your mobile phone, it looks a bit squashed, words are too small, buttons are too small, and links are hard to press.
The good news is that if you use Gmail or Inbox by Gmail, Google has announced that they will be making some changes by supporting emails with responsive design. What does this mean? This basically means that both platforms will be able to support emails which contains a design that can adapt to the size of your screen.
According to Google, “Starting later this month, Gmail and Inbox by Gmail will support emails created with responsive design, meaning their content adapts to fit screens of all sizes. Text, links, and even buttons will enlarge to make reading and tapping easier on a smaller screen. If you’re on desktop, you’ll also see improvements, since emails designed for mobile can also adapt to fit larger screens.”
The changes are expected to begin rolling out later this month, so if you do receive quite a few of these emails with fancy designs and buttons, do keep an eye out for the changes which should hopefully make your email experience a lot better.
