So we have been hearing bits and pieces of rumors regarding the Samsung Galaxy S8. One of those rumors include the handset having a 4K VR-ready display, and recently it has been suggested that the phone will be powered by an Exynos 8895 chipset with ARM’s new Mali-G71 GPU, making it a powerful phone that can support VR.
Now thanks to a post on Weibo, a bunch of specs that are rumored for the Galaxy S8 have made their way online. For starters its 4K display is still there and it will be of the 5.2-inch variety. It is also rumored to feature 6GB of RAM. There is also a whopping 30MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, and a 9MP front-facing camera.
We’re also looking at a minimum of 64GB of storage, a huge 4,200mAh battery, and there will be an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and a built-in projector. Now all of the specs kind of make sense, except the built-in projector. While pico projectors have their uses, we’re not sure if many consumers will actually need one.
In any case take it with a grain of salt, but with reports that Samsung is planning an early launch of the Galaxy S8 to get rid of the bad taste the Note 7 left behind due to its exploding batteries, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out. In the meantime are you excited about what you’ve heard so far?
