Samsung Galaxy On8 Has Been Officially Launched

While there are many high-end handsets to choose from, there are just as many mid-range devices for customers who can’t justify paying that much money for a piece of technology that would be considered “old” in a year’s time. If you are after a mid-range device, Samsung might have something for you.

The company has recently announced the Galaxy On8, a handset that at the moment seems more aimed towards the Asian region. The handset will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and under the hood an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz can be found. It will also be accompanied by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and support for microSD.

It will also feature a 13MP rear-facing camera that has a f/1.9 aperture, making it a relatively wide lens that should function pretty well under low-lighting conditions. It supports Full HD video capture, and for the front-facing camera, it is of the 5MP variety. We are also looking at a 3,300mAh battery and it will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Like we said, the handset seems geared more towards customers in Asia, namely India where it is priced around $240 after conversion. For that price and those specs, it’s actually not a bad deal, although there is no word on whether we will be seeing the phone make its way stateside at a later date, so maybe don’t hold your breath just yet.
