Facebook Messenger now has a proper bot platform which businesses can use to interact with their customers. We’ve already seen airlines, banks, retailers, and other businesses take advantage of this platform and now American Express is jumping in as well. Facebook Messenger now has an official American Express bot which users can take advantage of to access their accounts via the app itself.
The American Express bot for Facebook Messenger was first unveiled earlier this year and it has been launched now. The bot will inform users every single time a purchase is made using their American Express card and provide them with additional information about past purchases.
Facebook Messenger users who take advantage of the American Express bot may also receive restaurant recommendations and messages related to various loyalty programs. Amex has created a FAQ page which details all that users need to know about its Facebook Messenger bot.
American Express isn’t the only financial institution that’s embracing modern technology to connect to customers, its competitors are working along the same lines. Bank of America is planning to launch a Facebook Messenger bot as well while Capital One already allows its customers to access their accounts using Amazon’s Alexa personal digital assistant.
