While Blizzard is still showing Diablo 3 love by pushing out updates every now and then, in terms of major content releases, we’re sure that fans of the franchise are just itching for more. Recently there has been a bit of excitement to suggest that Diablo 2 could be getting a HD remake, thanks to the registration of a website called Diablo2HD.com.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) it seems that it has nothing to do with Blizzard. This has been confirmed by PC Gamer who reached out to the developer who relied by saying, “This isn’t ours,” thus dispelling the rumors once and for all. However like we said, it is sort of good news since we’re sure that gamers might be more interested in newer content, rather than a HD remake of a game, even though it is a classic, right?
Now there have been hints that Blizzard could be working on a new Diablo game. For example we’ve seen job listings that hinted as much. Recently the Diablo Twitter account also made a rather interesting announcement regarding BlizzCon 2016, which we have taken to indicate that maybe an announcement of sorts could be made.
The last time we saw major content introduced to the game that was not in the form of a patch was Reaper of Souls, which was released in 2016. This means that it has been 2 years since its release, which we reckon would make it pretty ripe for either a new expansion or maybe even Diablo 4. In any case we should find out more at BlizzCon this November, so check back with us then for the details.
