If you’re in the market for a mechanical keyboard, there are plenty of brands and models to choose from. If you’re familiar with the mechanical keyboard scene, there’s a good chance that Das Keyboard could be one that’s familiar to you. The company has been releasing multiple models over the past few years, and their latest is the Das Keyboard Prime 13.
So what makes the Prime 13 so different from the other Das Keyboard models? For starters it looks like Das Keyboard has returned to their roots in terms of design. Gone are the dedicated media keys and volume knob, instead we are treated to a clean and minimalist-looking design. The media keys are still there, it’s just that they are now part of the function key row.
Love or hate this setup? We guess that depends on your preferences, but if you wanted something clean, this is one way to go about it. The keyboard will also feature white LED lights and will also feature Cherry MX switches. The company has tried to introduce other switches such as Greetech, but if you’re a fan of Cherry then you should be pleased by this option.
Other than that, the Prime 13 will sport an aluminum top panel (goodbye glossy plastic!) and come with similar features as the company’s other models, such as full NKRO, USB pass-through, and a braided cable. The Prime 13 is priced at $149 and is currently available for purchase via Das Keyboard’s website.
