Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is expected to be released on the 4th of November. However sometimes games can be delayed due to last minute polishes and bug fixing, but in the case of Infinite Warfare, it looks like everything appears to be on track for a timely launch.
In a tweet by the game’s developers Infinity Ward, they have announced that the game has gone gold. “We’ve gone gold! Excited for our upcoming MP Beta and all the optimizing we can do for launch with your gameplay data.” For those who are unfamiliar with this term, basically it means that development on the game has been more or less completed, and that the game is now being sent off to the likes of Sony and Microsoft for approval before production on the game’s retail discs begin.
The term is used in software like when Apple announces the Golden Master releases of its software, which is to basically indicate that this version will be more or less the same version at release. Speaking of betas, the multiplayer beta for the game was announced last week where PS4 gamers would be given a week headstart in the beta before it opens up to Xbox gamers. It will begin on the 14th of October and end on the 24th of October. Unfortunately PC gamers seem to be left out of the loop.
