B&O Confirms Its Speakers Will Get Google Cast Multiroom Support

beoplay-a6For many of us, we have our speakers setup along with our computers, and maybe another set of speakers in the living room with our TVs. Switching back and forth between these speakers can be troublesome especially if they’re wired, meaning that your TV and computer are pretty much the hubs that you control them with.

However the good news for B&O speaker owners is that the company has recently confirmed that the Google Cast multiroom feature will now be support by B&O Play speakers. The feature was already available to users to use Google Cast to cast music to individual speakers, but by opening it up, it will allow users to cast to multiple rooms, assuming it is part of their multiroom setup.

As it stands, the Beoplay A6 and second-generation Beoplay A9 are compatible with this new feature, and older B&O Play products like its soundbar and other networked speakers are expected to gain multiroom support in a future software update, so this is something that users can look forward to.

B&O is obviously not the first company to the market with this support, and they will actually be joining the likes of Harmon Kardon, Vizio, and Philips in using the Google Cast standard, thus making it more mainstream than before. B&O’s products don’t come cheap so perhaps with the addition of Google Cast support, it will make its price tags more justifiable.
