You might be reading rumors these days which suggest that BlackBerry may soon shut down its handset division. On the contrary, there have been multiple reports suggesting that the company is gearing up to launch the DTEK60, a new handset we’ve previously known by its codename “Argon.” This handset has already received the relevant certifications and now it may have been revealed in a leaked render.
Well known Twitter leaker @evleaks today posted a render which appears to show the DTEK60. It looks like what most Android smartphones do, BlackBerry doesn’t appear to have made any major innovations in the design department.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 is believed to feature a 5.5 inch Quad HD resolution display, a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor as well as a 3,000mAh battery. It’s also expected to feature a 21 megapixel rear and 8 megapixel front camera.
It goes without saying that this is going to be an Android-powered handset. BlackBerry recently launched the DTEK50 which is basically a mid-range Android smartphone. The DTEK60 is shaping up to be BlackBerry’s 2016 flagship.
The company is yet to confirm when it’s going to officially launch the DTEK60 and how much it’s going to cost. We’ll update you as soon as more details come in.
