DICE confirmed yesterday when it shared a short teaser of the official Battlefield 1 single player trailer that the full trailer is going to be released tomorrow. It has followed through on that promise and released that trailer today which shows that the game is going to enable players to “fight across the globe in a gripping anthology of War Stories.”
Battlefield 1 players are going to experience a series of War Stories in single player mode. War Stories are personal stories that focus on different protagonists that have unique skills and backgrounds. The characters may be at war but the stories in Battlefield 1 are personal. “They’re about people rather than history or battles.”
This is quite a departure from previous Battlefield games where the entire single player story was experienced through the proverbial eyes of one main character and it was very rare that the camera cut anywhere. With Battlefield 1 the aim was to create stronger characters instead of simply telling players “you are the character.”
The format for Battlefield 1 single player was then reconsidered to provide an immersive experience and be totally respectful to the World War 1 setting. Players will be able to experience many different war stories in the single player campaign of Battlefield 1 which is surely unlike anything seen in a BF title before.
Battlefield 1 is going to be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 21st.
