Android Wear Smartwatches Not Pairing With The iPhone 7

Despite Android Wear being a Google platform, Android Wear smartwatches have typically been able to pair with the iPhone. Or at least that used to be the case until the iPhone 7 came along because since then, users have been reporting that they are unable to pair their Android Wear smartwatches with Apple’s latest iPhone.

Google has since acknowledged the issue and have confirmed that devices such as the Asus ZenWatch 2, Moto 360 2nd Gen, Moto 360 Sport, TAG Heuer Connected, and Fossil Q Founder watches are experiencing problems. However users are also claiming that this has affected devices like the LG G Watch and the original Moto 360.

It has been suggested that this could be a hardware issue because these users have no problems pairing their Android Wear devices with older iPhones. If you think it could be software, think again because older iPhones running on iOS 10 have not encountered any issues either.

Google has since confirmed that they are looking into the issue, and has since reported it to Apple as well. They are also working to see if it can be fixed from their end. “Google has reported the issue to Apple, and the Android Wear team is actively working to fix this as soon as possible.”
