“An issue is affecting rollout of this software update and we are working with Huawei to resolve ASAP. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep you posted as soon as we have an update.” The carrier does not dive into any specifics as to what these issues might be, but judging from the feedback that users have been giving, it would seem that it is most likely due to the battery drain.
Neither Google nor Huawei have come forward to officially acknowledge the problem so we’re not sure how widespread this issue is. However if you haven’t updated to Android 7.0 Nougat yet, maybe this could be a good reason for you to wait before updating. There have been some reports that suggests that the Nexus 9 LTE is similarly affected by this, so if you own the tablet but haven’t updated yet, maybe holding off on doing so for now would be a good idea.
So far other than Vodafone Australia, we haven’t really heard from other carriers about the issue but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
