Have you ever tried searching for something on Google, only to have the search results return some pretty shady-sounding links? Yup, we’ve all been there, and now it seems that during the 10th annual McAfee Most Dangerous Celebrities study, Intel Security has found actress/comedian Amy Schumer to be the most dangerous celebrity to search for.
What do we mean by that? Basically one of the ways hackers trick people into installing malware on their computers is to hijack the search results for celebrities, basically those shady links we were talking about. For users who do not know better, they might click that link and end up having malware or a virus installed on their computer.
At this time of writing, Amy Schumer has topped the list with 16.11%, meaning that there’s a 16.11% chance that the search results could lead users to a site with malware. Coming in second place is Justin Bieber at 15%, Carson Daly and Will Smith who are both tied 13.44%, Rihanna at 13.33%, Miley Cyrus at 12.67%, Chris Hardwick at 12.56%, Daniel Tosh at 11.56%, and Selena Gomez tied with Ke$ha at 11.11%.
Like we said, if you know what you’re doing then chances are you know which sites sound shady enough to avoid, but if you want to be safe, we suppose keeping your anti-virus software up to date with the latest threats is always a good idea.
