Indeed that’s what the rumors are saying in that 2017’s iPhone could sport a brand new design, such as an all-glass enclosure, a virtual home button, and maybe even an OLED display. Now according to the latest reports, it seems that we might have gotten an idea of what OLED display Apple could use, and it could be the latest OLED tech coming from Samsung.
If the rumors are true, Apple’s 2017 iPhone could employ the use of Samsung’s Flexible OLED Atomic Layer Deposition Technology. One of the advantages to this particular OLED tech is that it helps protect the organic materials from oxygen and water, thus increasing its durability and lifespan. It also replaces an older methodology which involves using multiple layers of film, and will ultimately result in thinner and more flexible displays.
However to the naked eye we might not be able to tell the difference, but if it could result in a display that’s thinner and longer-lasting, why not? Until then, we suggest you take it with a grain of salt.
