Microsoft has announced today that it’s expanding the Xbox Game Preview program announced at E3 2015 to Windows 10. This program enables Xbox One owners to play games that are still under development and provide developers with feedback. Microsoft is expanding this program to Windows 10 which will enable gamers on PC to play titles meant for Windows 10 while they are still in development.
This isn’t going to be something entirely different for PC gamers as Steam’s “early access” program has allowed them to play games in development for a few years now. Still, Windows 10 users will appreciate that Microsoft is finally expanding the Xbox Game Preview program to the latest iteration of its OS.
Microsoft made this announcement on its blog as unlike recent years, it’s not holding a proper press conference at Gamescom this year. It has a limited presence at the gaming convention but promises that more exciting announcements are going to be made this week and beyond.
The company has revealed that Everspace by Rockfish Games is going to be the first title which PC games on Windows 10 will be able to get their hands on prior to launch and provide developers with feedback. It says that many more will be added in the months to come.
