Verizon Issues Security Patch For The Galaxy Note 7

galaxy-note-7-s-pen_05-sticking-outAs much as we would love to have everything be perfect on launch day, obviously that would be a near impossible feat to pull off as something usually pops up. The good news is that there does not appear to be any issue with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, at least so far, but it seems that Verizon has a security patch ready for the handset anyway.

According to Verizon, “Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device. This software update has been tested to optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches.” It is unclear as to what kind of security patch this is about, but we suppose anything that improves upon the security of your device should always be welcome.

As the carrier advises, users should ensure their phones are connected to WiFi if they’d rather not have the download eat into their data, and that the phone’s battery is full (or plugged in) while the patch is being downloaded and installed, since dying halfway through an installation usually ends rather badly for most users.

The build number for this patch is MMB29M.N930VVRS1APH1, so if are already running that current build you should be good to go, otherwise you’ll want to download it.
