If the rumors are true, there will be at least two new Nexus handsets this year, both of which are said to be coming from HTC and they have been codenamed Sailfish and Marlin. Now whether or not the rumors are true remains to be seen, but the folks at Android Police have managed to get their hands on what they allege to be wallpapers from the upcoming Nexus handsets.
These wallpapers are static but according to them, Google is said to be working on new live wallpapers (basically animated wallpapers) with new animations and functions. This means that instead of looking pretty in the background, these new live wallpapers could actually serve a larger purpose. However those weren’t the wallpapers that were leaked so we guess you’ll just have to use your imagination for now.
So far the new wallpapers do look pretty good and pretty official as far as wallpapers are concerned. 12 different wallpapers have been leaked and uploaded so you can head on over here if you’d like to download them for your phone. Unfortunately we have no idea when the new Nexus handsets will be launched, but so far Google has chosen the later part of the year to make their Nexus announcements, so perhaps we will learn more in the coming weeks/months.
