Pokemon GO is one of the hottest games right now, which might account for why everyone is playing it. However it seems that some players are so engrossed in the game that personal safety and the safety of others completely slips their mind, which has resulted in car crashes and players walking off cliffs.
Over in the city of Bangkok, Thailand, it would appear that authorities are kind of sick of people causing or getting into accidents over the game, and have since setup a Pokemon GO police squad, according to a report from the Bangkok Post (via CNET). This squad would be responsible for keeping an eye out for people playing the game dangerously.
This means that if you are caught playing the game in a dangerous manner, such as driving while playing, or hindering traffic, will be hit with fines up to 1,000 baht (which is around $30). Granted that’s not a lot, but if you were to get caught several times a day or in a week, it could add up to quite a lot of money that could be spent on something else.
In the meantime you can check out the video above which shows how dangerous it can be when players suddenly discover a rare Pokemon and rush across the road in the middle of traffic just to get it. Pretty crazy, huh?
